walk barefoot...in the life as we know...

Today is the day that I (we) become a 'Blogger'. I've heard the term, many times actually. Mostly in a mocking manner. However, I have convinced myself that I will enjoy this to the fullest extent as I include the world (our world) in 'life as we know it'. Thus the title of this 'blog' which is pretty self explanatory.

Its true, life as we know it - is one long path. Sometimes the path consists of gold, other times broken bricks. The days when the hidden quick sand beneath the fallen leaves appear, seems to be the time when we question "is this life as we know?". Reflecting back on the last year, the path we have trod has been a journey of ups and downs. Just when I thought I couldn't take anymore, the valley couldn't get any lower...miraculously the Lord lifted us out of the depths.
Its a constant journey we must take and we must drink our daily dose of faith and chew our daily bread. As we continue to press on, what has happened in the past makes sense further down the road of future. So I'm proposing that we as Christians - let's take off our shoes. Let's walk barefoot. Otherwise our heels may get caught in the at times, extremely rocky terrain. Allow HIM to lift you over the dead ends and relax in HIS strength.
(and when you discover how to do this...tell me. :0) )

Now to the more newsy section of this blog.

We have been in Easton, PA now for about three weeks. Its fun to be in a busy environment. We of course LOVE New England but the city has its perks as well.

Sean is presently employed at Century Wire Products in Washington New Jersey and on his 30 minute drive to work, he sees more police than the whole state of New Hampshire has employed. Sean has the important title of 'wire coiler'. He's not in love with his job, to say the least, but its a job that has been graciously provided as we are in the 'in between' stage. Not to mention the men that the Lord has placed in Sean's life, that are desperate for a Savior.

I am able to stay home with Delaney who is now 8 months old. I probably should be working but after paying for childcare, it evens out. She's a joy to be with and to watch grow! :0)

She is so close to walking. We just know at any minute she's going to just start going and not stop. Crawling apparently is not that important to her. We are surrounded by family which we love...all within 15 minutes. Delaney loves being around all her cousins and amidst 5 boys - she's loving the action of trucks and loud dinosaur growls.

Sean is in the process of pursuing his PGA in hopes to teaching lessons at a club, in the near future. As we reach for this goal - we continue to seek for wisdom and guidance.

Please feel free to write - ask questions - pray for us - or share your own prayer requests. We'd love to hear from you all and hope that you find this 'blog' welcoming.

I guess I am now, REALLY official, as a Blogger.

Stay on your knees!

In His Grace and Mercy,
The Dougherty's

Delaney is in love with Jack. Really. He can do just about anything and she'll laugh - as you can see! :0)
