The first snow has fallen - today. I called my Mom to ask about snow up in New Hampshire, where the White Mountains are seen not too far from their house. Other than covered Mount Washington, from a distance, there was no sign of snow. So LaneyLou had her first snow experience today. She looked at the flakes that had fallen on her jacket - in a puzzled way. (I love that puzzled, 'hmm' look.) This picture is what is across the street from us. A huge catholic school...that always looks creepy at night. (See the SNOW!?)Today we had an "open call baptism" at church. It was the first time I had ever witnessed such an event and I must say, I loved it. To see people answer the Lord's apparent tug on their heart's strings - in complete obedience, was an encouraging and yah...humbling... experience. Pastor Jim then went on to preach the parable of the Wise Man building his house upon a rock. (Matthew 7) He went on to say that sure, storms will come. Winds will blow. Rain will pelt the windows. You may even lose a few shutters. But with a foundation firmly planted on a rock (the Lord Jesus Christ), your house will not crumble. By obeying the calls, the direction, the leading of Christ the upkeep of your home will prepare you for whatever the future may blow.
Wednesday we head to the Jersey Shore...Thanksgiving otherwise known as "The Feeding of the Five Thousand Dougherty's" will take place. I have yet to meet the entire family. It - no doubt - will be overwhelming but we know how much it means to Dad Dougherty that we make the trip.
We shall pray for safety as you travel to visit with loved ones. There is nothing sweeter than time spent with your family and friends - during the holidays. We will miss our fam that we won't be seeing. :0( But Christmas is right around the corner!

Spend time each day this week to thank the Lord for all that He's provided. Let your family know you love them and are thankful for them. Be thankful. A grateful person, tends to be contagious....its hard not to have a cheerful heart when in the presence of a happy and glowing of thanks to God person.Love to you all. Thank you Jesus for our family and friends!
